Let Length of Rectangle =10cm& Breadh =6cm Area of Rectangle =LENGTHxBREADH Area=10cmx6cm=60sq cm According to question  Length of Rectangle increased by 1=(10+1)cm =11cm & Breadh decreased by 1=(6-1)cm=5Cm Area of New Rectangle= 11cmx5cm=55sqcm 55sqcm<60sq cm    New area will be decreased.
